EMEA Exports and Logistics Manager

The EMEA Exports and Logistics Manager will lead the export team, assuming primary responsibility for all outbound shipping, customs compliance and operational effectiveness in the HID Fulfilment Centre [FC] in Shannon. You will play a key role in overseeing all activities within the contract logistics partner operations also based within the FC.

You will take the lead in providing operational and technical expertise to enhance the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the department. Establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with internal operations, production scheduling, customer service and sales. Building relationships with external multi modal transportation and logistics partners to ensure customer satisfaction and to deliver maximum advantage to the business.

You will take responsibility for providing operational and technical expertise to enhance the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the department.

You will also have a vital role in ensuring full legal compliance within governmental customs rules and regulations.

As our EMEA Exports & Logistics Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Preforming day-to-day management, coaching and development of the export department
  • Creating and managing of outbound shipping schedules
  • Taking ownership of customer consolidation routines in compliance with external customer and internal sales/customer service requirements
  • Providing timely and accurate communication of all shipping plans and schedules to all key stakeholders
  • Leading the department in establishing, reviewing documenting, and implementing or updating processes as needed.
  • Creating and developing key commercial relationships with multi modal transportation partners
  • Taking ownership of all shipping quoting activities and the provision of cost pricing to customers and channel partners
  • Preforming the day-to-day operational oversight of all outbound activities within the contract logistics partner
  • Being responsible for all areas of regulatory export compliance as applicable

Your Experience and Education include:     

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in international shipping, preferably acquired in a high-tech product exporting business
  • Fully conversant with all aspects of domestic and international shipping to include haulage, air and ocean freight
  • Experience of global Incoterms 2020 and an understanding of their application and ramification throughout the supply chain
  • Working knowledge of and extensive experience working with Irish Revenue Automated Entry Processing systems
  • Membership of the Institute of Logistics or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience with continuous improvement/LEAN concepts is desired.
