What you will do
This Product Management role supports the Planet Payments portfolio with a specific focus on Front end solutions – covering both the hardware (terminals/devices) and the software that resides on Terminals, Tablets or other mobile devices.  The role will assess new market opportunities to increase the value Planet delivers to Merchants, addressing the multiple opportunities with complex international payment processing.


The Product Manager will review the exiting terminal / device strategy – assessing the market size and the investments Planet would need to make to capture share in the market.  Depending on the business case and the plans required, the Product Manager will work alongside multiple functions to develop, manage and promote front end solutions to ensure that Planet meets or exceeds its business goals.


The role will work as part of the Product Management team, looking at the broader business opportunities for Planet in the Merchant Payments market including but not limited to other Payment acceptance and processing services, data and intelligence services.  The Product Manager will be a key member of the Payments teams and work alongside other Product Managers to improve the skills, processes and capabilities of Product Management.

Key Result Areas
Market assessment– the Product Manager will work with the sales and functional teams that support our Payments business to assess the marketing trends and dynamics in payment front end solutions.  The front end software provided on terminals and mobile devices provide the ability for Merchants to accept and process payments from international shoppers.  Planet needs to assess the market opportunity, qualify the requirements to develop the market, review channels and , partnerships required for successful implementation.   Any market opportunity should have a clear business case should be fully reviewed and supported by the Payments team.   The Product Manager will lead the go-to-market for any new or improved front end solutions, prioritising roadmaps and commercialising the services in market.
Market requirements – champion the needs of the Payments business specific to front end solutions, working closely with the sales teams to map Merchant needs and journeys into product requirements.  The role should own the publication of the Terminal Strategy for the group working closely with development and support teams across Payments and Tax Free to ensure the entire group business needs are met.  The role will be expected to work with the leaders of the Payments business unit, IT development and sales teams to build alignment and agreement on the prioritization of business requirements.
Product ownership – be the single point of contact for Payment Front End solutions, managing the ongoing roadmap for Front End Solutions.  The role will manage the multi-year roadmap and ensure the sales team have information they need to deliver business results.   The role will manage the entire product lifecycle from product vision, product strategy, backlog requirements, roadmap delivery and set product performance KPIs on behalf of the group.
New solution go-to-market (GTM) – coordinate the go-to-market process for all front end payment solutions.  Ensure that solutions are commercialized, with all ready to sell and ready to deliver materials providing a positive experience for Merchants.
Value Proposition – designs and communicates the value proposition for Front End Payment solutions.  Clearly and simply communicating what the product does, identifying the target audience, states benefits in deployment and highlights differentiation.   The Product Manager will work with other Marketing Communication functions to ensure the proposition is communicated consistently and vibrantly at every touch point.
Sales enablement – work with the Marketing team, heads of each business line and heads of the Payment business in all regions to create, localize and standardize the various sales materials & collateral support required by the business.
What you know

Seven to ten years Product Management experience in the terminal software or payments industry, ideally in international markets within the Fintech or technology services providers space
Experience of creating go-to-market strategies drawing upon market analysis, competitor research, customer segmentation
Create compelling and effective positioning, value propositions and messaging for multiple audiences, showing a passionate ability to create effective sales tools
Experience working as Product manager in a SCRUM/Agile environment
Very strong business analysis skills and ability to understand and shape efficient processes
Ability to influence in virtual and intercultural teams and drive multi layered project teams to successful results
Fluent in English, with knowledge of further language a real bonus
Organizational, presentation and planning skills
Ability to define business process and rules with a strong technical focus – actively seeks innovative ways to improve processes, products, and user experience
Strong communicator with excellent presentation skills.  Hands on style of working, willing to roll up sleeves and work with teams versus delegating to others
Ability to learn quickly, to work independently as well as with a team.  The ability to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design from which Products are enhanced and developed
Comfortable in working with multiple audiences, preferably background in mobile or digital consumer applications
Bachelor Degree Equivalent.
