The Electronic R&D Engineer will be an integral part of the product development team, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering.

The role will involve teamwork both within the internal team, and with external partners. The successful Electronic R&D Engineer will be given extensive exposure within an exciting start-up environment.

 

Responsibilities for R&D Electronics Engineer

·         Generate detailed design specifications and BOMs for manufacturing

· Problem-solving and implementation of solutions

·         Sourcing and validation of electronic components

·         Work closely with other R&D engineers and support the manufacturing line

·         Design and test of electronic and electro-mechanical systems.

·         Create and maintain design control documentation relating to the electronic hardware & software designs.

·         Follow documented Quality Procedures.

·         Work on all elements of the Research & Development of products, from concept generation through to design validation.

·         Continue to support products through design transfer and manufacturing.

·         Liaise with external design, manufacturing, and test partners, providing technical support and managing technical communication.

·         Assist in the development of intellectual property generated through the Research & Development activities.

 

Qualifications for Lab Technician

3rd level Electronic Engineering qualification and or related discipline, with a good understanding of both Hardware and Software

Strong theoretical understanding of electronic components and systems

Track record of creative product design, prototyping, testing and transfer to production

Practical design software experience (circuit simulation, schematics, layouts, Gerber files)

Firmware programming experience

Experienced in the use of electronic design lab equipment (oscilloscope, impedance analyzer….)

Experience in working to design control procedures and QMS

Experienced in power electronic circuit design: analogue, digital, and mixed-signal.

Knowledge of piezoelectric actuators and sensors.
