Abtran has an exciting position available for a Commercial Support Manager located in our Cork Mahon HQ reporting into the Chief Finance Officer.

In this role, you will work through commercial pricing models that meet both client requirements and internal profitability criteria. Strategic Pricing insights that overall increases our knowledge of Commercial Pricing within our BPO environment. Management of duties of the Commercial Controller function in their capacity of providing financial support to the business. You will have responsibility for three Commercial Controllers all located in the Mahon office.

How you will spend your day:

Commercial Pricing:

  • Responsible for the production of detailed commercial pricing models based on Tender document requirements.
  • Person needs to be capable of preparing the detailed components of Commercial Pricing offerings but also can summarise key points and communicate these effectively to wider stakeholders.
  • Role requires a person to have experience of Commercial Pricing including models that are either
  • Resource based or transactional-based and ideally be familiar with Client – Vendor gain share models where any assumed vendor risk is correspondingly rewarded through contract performance that provides a benefit to both Client and Vendor.
  • Role will be required to work across Business stakeholders e.g. Operations, ICT, People to ensure that all relevant inputs to Pricing Models are correctly captured.
  • Responsible for the translation of key aspects of commercial pricing and negotiated terms into a legal contract.
  • Responsible for managing the smooth transition of the finance aspects of a Contract award from initial Pricing Model across to a Commercial Controller who then translates this into Profit Centre P&L and Overhead / Capex cost lines.


Commercial Control:

  • Responsible for management of Abtran’s Team of Commercial Controller’s;


  • Key Accountable elements are as follows:


  • Complete tasks relating to their profit centers as part of the monthly Financial Reporting cycle.
  • Responsible for completeness and accuracy of Sales Invoicing.
  • Responsible for ensuring cash is collected from customers within contractual terms.
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of Trading Forecasts.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Budgets for their profit centers.
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of monthly presentations detailing financial performance to business stakeholders.
  • Provide financial support to the Operations team including Service Delivery Directors to ensure they are fully aware of the impact of key variables & consequences of decisions taken on Profit Centre profitability.
  • Team Management, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement:
    Manage workload and competence of Commercial Support team.
    Build positive working relationships across the organisation.
    Support CFO where necessary on an ad hoc value-added tasks for the business.
    Create and foster a continuous improvement culture within Finance and with other stakeholders.
    Desired Qualifications, Training and Experience:
    15 years of relevant accountancy experience in industries with a strong commercial environment.
    Professional Accountancy qualification.
    Knowledge of ERP, CRM and Microsoft applications.
    Experience in a previous hand on Financial reporting & compliance roles.
    Needs to have excellent Excel and PowerPoint modeling skills.
    Capable of communicating Financial metrics to various levels of the business, up to and including Board level.
    Knowledge of Irish Financial Reporting standards.
